On October 27-30, the representatives of the Public Internal Control Department of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, were on a work visit to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The Deputy Head of the Department, Irma Gelantia-Akhvlediani, made a presentation on the topic “Certification of the Public Sector Internal Auditors in Georgia and Global Challenges” at the panel meeting of CHU Challenges Working Group, a WG of the international network, PEMPAL IACOP.
In the above-mentioned meeting, the leaders of the Central Harmonization Units of more than 23 countries were participating. The meetings discussed the models of the certification of internal auditors and their continuous professional development on the examples of Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic and Spain. The discussion also touched upon the challenges regarding the impact of new Global Internal Audit Standards in the public sector – on training, certification, and the opportunities for digitalization of continuous professional development.
As a part of the work visit, Irma Gelantia-Akhvlediani participated in a meeting of the PEMPAL IACOP Executive Committee Working Group.
