Within the framework of cooperation between the Public Internal Financial Control Department of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia - Harmonization Center and the World Bank, a project is underway with the involvement of Ernst & Young Georgia and Turkey offices, within the framework of which the experts of Ernst & Young Turkey offices will support the implementation of the internal assessment component of the quality assurance and improvement program to the two agencies selected as pilots. , namely :

-          Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia;

-          Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

On December 12-13 of this year, a practical work meeting was held in the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of IDPs from Georgia's occupied territories, where Georgian and Turkish colleagues collaborated on internal quality assessment documents, including agreeing on evaluation criteria, preparing a detailed plan written on time, a schedule of interviews to be conducted, and relevant questionnaires.

It should be emphasized that the workshops were preceded by in-depth online trainings as part of the internal audit quality assurance and improvement program, during which the needs of international standards and best practices were communicated.

Following the working meetings, employees of the Ministry of IDPs from the occupied territories, labor, health, and social protection's internal audit unit will review the requested documentation from the selected object, conduct the planned interviews, and prepare a relevant report in close collaboration with their Turkish colleagues. As a result, recommendations are made to improve the quality of the audit facility's services.

It should be pointed out that this experience will help to greatly improve the implementation of the internal quality assessment component within the context of the pilot ministries' quality assurance and improvement program. As a result of the external evaluations conducted in recent years, it was identified as a type of gap that needed to be filled.
