Public  Internal  Financial Control Department (Harmonization Center) of the Ministry of Finance is hosting a delegation from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The goal of the four-day working visit is to share Georgia’s practices regarding public sector internal audit and internal control systems.

Deputy Minister of Finance Mikheil Dundua met with the members of the delegation at the Ministry of Finance. Representatives from the Public Internal Financial  Control Department introduced their colleagues to the perspectives of the Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) reform, the national certification system for internal auditors, and the risk management system.

During the visit, special attention was paid to the transformation that Georgia has undergone from an administrative approach to effective governance.

Meetings were held with the internal audit departments of the Ministry of Finance, the Revenue Service, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The delegation also visited Telavi Municipality, where they learned firsthand about the development stages and practical challenges of internal audit at the local self-government level.

This working visit underscores Georgia’s leading role in the region in terms of Public Finance Management (PFM) reforms and promotes the deepening of professional ties between the two countries.
