With the cooperation of the Public Internal Financial Control Department of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia – Central Harmonization Unit and the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Georgia and with the support of GIZ, German Agency for International Cooperation, a conference was held in Tbilisi on December 18 of this year on the topic - "Promoting the anti-corruption environment by strengthening risk assessment and preventive measures".
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Mikheil Dundua, the First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Tamta Kachkachishvili, and the Chairman of the State Procurement Agency, Levan Razmadze, who shared information with the public about the anti-corruption measures implemented in their own agencies and the positive results about assessments received by Georgia from international organizations as a result.
The first deputy head of the Anti-corruption Bureau, Tamta Kachkachishvili, in his presentation spoke extensively about the importance of risk assessment and management in the direction of successful anti-corruption measures.
In his presentation, the head of the Public Internal Financial Control Department – Central Harmonization Unit of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Giuli Chkuaseli spoke about the importance of accountability in modern public administration, the most important component of which is the introduction of risk management systems in public institutions, and emphasized the commitment taken by Georgia within the framework of the association agreement in this direction.
During the conference, the head of the audit department of the self-governing units of the state audit and the heads of the internal audit unit and risk management service of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia spoke about the activities carried out in the direction of risk assessment and management.
